Thank you for visiting this site. My name is Joel Moncur and I am an anatomic, clinical and molecular and genetic pathologist from Silver Spring, MD. I serve as the Deputy Director and Chief Medical Officer for The Joint Pathology Center (formerly known as the AFIP). I am also an Associate Professor of Pathology at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.
In 2024, I retired from the US Army after 24 years. While on active duty, I served 5 years as the Director of the Joint Pathology Center and 5 years as the Chief of Pathology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
As a member of the CAP, I serve on the Council on Scientific Affairs and as a delegate of the CAP House of Delegates. I previously served for 15 years on the CAP Molecular Oncology Committee, including terms as chair, vice chair, and advisor.
I would be honored to serve on the CAP Board of Governors
